Presentation of Credentials to Governor-General of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea On 26 July 2016, Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, with residence in Canberra, presented his Letter of Credence and the Letter of Recall of his predecessor to H.E. Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio, Governor-General of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea at the Government House. He was accompanied by Mrs. Kanyaratana Punkrasin, his spouse, and Ms. Pornpan Jankrajang, Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy.

During the visit (25-28 July 2016), Ambassador Chirachai paid a courtesy call on Hon. Peter O'Neill, Prime Minister of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, Mr. Alexis Maino, Deputy Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ivan Pomaleu, Managing Director of the Investment Promotion Authority and Mr. Douveri Henao, Executive Director of the Business Council of Papua New Guinea and Mr. Ken Dunn, President of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss and exchange views on trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. He also met with the Thai community in Port Moresby as arranged by Mr. Loani Henao, Honorary Consul General in Papua New Guinea.
