A Transit Visa may be issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes:

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents or information, if necessary.
The validity of a Transit Visa is three months from the date of issue
A Transit visa is valid for a stay of 30 days. The permit to stay for this type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Officer at the Immigration Checkpoint.
Visa fee is PGK 80 per entry. Payment may be made either by cash or bank cheque (payable to Royal Thai Consulate-General). Visa fees are payable in local Kina currency and are subject to change without notice. Visa fees are charged to cover the cost of processing an application. If an application is refused, the fee is not refundable.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT:
A visa does not guarantee entry into Thailand. It however simply indicates that your application has been reviewed by a consular officer
and that he or she has determined you are eligible to enter the country for a specific purpose and permitted time.
This visa allows you to travel to Thailand as far as the port of entry and ask the Immigration officer to allow you to enter the Kingdom.
ONLY THE IMMGRATION OFFICER HAS THE AUTHORITY TO PERMIT YOU TO ENTER THAILAND AND TO DETERMINE THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY.
