Purpose of Visit

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes:

1. Transiting through Thailand’s airports exceeding 12 hours before proceeding to a third country of destination or returning to your home country - Category “TS” (Requiring a copy of outbound ticket to a third country).
2. Participating in sports activities - Category “S” (Requiring a letter of invitation from the concerned organization in Thailand).
3. Captain or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in Thailand – Category “C” (Requiring a letter of verification from the concerned airline).

Required Documents

Transit Visa applicants must provide the following documents with a completed Visa Application Form:

1. A passport or travel document recognised by Thailand with validity of 6 months or more from expected date of arrival.
2. A photocopy of biographic page of passport or travel document.
3. A passport size photograph (3.5x4.5cm) taken within last six (6) months without glasses or headgear (photocopy not accepted).
4. A valid airline ticket or travel itinerary confirming date of arrival in and departure from Thailand to the third country destination.
5. A copy of airline ticket confirming the date of your second entry into Thailand within the validity period of visa (for applicants applying for double entry).

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents or information as deemed necessary.

Validity of Visa

The validity of a visa is three (3) months from the date of issue.

Validity of Stay

A Tourist visa is valid for a stay not exceeding 30 days.

Visa Fee

SINGLE ENTRY: PGK 115.00 per application.
MULTIPLE ENTRY: PGK 230.00 per application.

Payment may be made either by cash or bank cheque (payable to Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General). Visa fees are payable in local Kina currency and are subject to change without notice. Visa fees are non-refundable.

Extension

An extension of stay may be requested. Applicants may file an application at:

The extension of stay as well as the change in the type of visa is solely at the discretion of the immigration officer.

General Rules and Regulations

• The Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General will only accept complete applications.
• Visa applications with incomplete documentation will not be processed until all documentation is provided. All applicants must apply at least seven (7) days prior to their travel.
• Complete applications take three (3) business days to process, not including the day that you lodge.
• Each application is considered on its individual merit and may be rejected without any reason provided.

Notice About Visas

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT:

A visa does not guarantee entry into Thailand. It however simply indicates that your application has been reviewed by a consular officer and that he or she has determined you are eligible to enter the country for a specific purpose and permitted time. This visa allows you to travel to Thailand as far as the port of entry and ask the Immigration officer to allow you to enter the Kingdom. ONLY THE IMMGRATION OFFICER HAS THE AUTHORITY TO PERMIT YOU TO ENTER THAILAND AND TO DETERMINE THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY.
