A Tourist Visa may be issued to applicants wishing to enter the Kingdom for tourism purposes.
Whether applying in person or by post, applicants for a Tourist Visa must provide the following documents with a completed Visa Application Form:
Consular officers reserve the right to request for additional documents or information if necessary.
The validity of a Tourist Visa is three months from the date of issue.
A Tourist visa is valid for a stay of 60 days. Permission of stay will be granted at the Immigration Checkpoint. The length of stay is subject to the discretion of the Thai Immigration Bureau upon entry into the Kingdom.
Extension of stay is possible. The extension of stay as well as the change in the type of visa is solely at the discretion of the immigration officer. Applicants may file an application at:
The Office of Immigration Bureau
Soi Suan Plu
South Sathorn Road
Bangkok 10120
Tel (662) 287 3101 – 10

Visa fee is PGK 95 per entry. Payment may be made either by cash or bank cheque (payable to Royal Thai Consulate-General). Visa fees are payable in local Kina currency and are subject to change without notice. Visa fees are charged to cover the cost of processing an application. If an application is refused, the fee is not refundable.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT:
A visa does not guarantee entry into Thailand. It however simply indicates that your application has been reviewed by a consular officer
and that he or she has determined you are eligible to enter the country for a specific purpose and permitted time.
This visa allows you to travel to Thailand as far as the port of entry and ask the Immigration officer to allow you to enter the Kingdom.
ONLY THE IMMGRATION OFFICER HAS THE AUTHORITY TO PERMIT YOU TO ENTER THAILAND AND TO DETERMINE THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY.
