Education Visa (Non-Immigrant Visa Category "ED")

Purpose of Visit

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour, to participate in project or to attend a conference or training course, to study as a foreign Buddhist monk (Category “ED).

Required Documents

Non-Immigrant Visa applicants must provide the following documents with a completed Visa Application Form:

  1. A passport or travel document recognised by Thailand with validity of 6 months or more from expected date of arrival.
  2. A photocopy of biographic page of passport or travel document.
  3. A passport size photograph (3.5x4.5cm) taken within last six (6) months without glasses or headgear (photocopy not accepted).
  4. A letter from your employer stating your position, length of employment, date and purpose of visit.
  5. An invitation from concerned company/organization in Thailand indicating length of stay and purpose of your visit.
  6. A valid airline ticket or travel itinerary confirming date of arrival in and departure from Thailand.
  7. If applicant is not a Papua New Guinea citizen, proof of Papua New Guinea permanent residency visa is required.

Additional documentation must be provided according to the purpose of visit:

EDUCATION

INTERNSHIP

  1. A letter from your employer stating your position, length of employment, date and purpose of visit;
  2. An invitation letter from concerned company or organization in Thailand indicating length of stay and purpose of your visit;
  3. A copy of concerned organization’s registration or license in Thailand.
  4. Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents or information as deemed necessary.

Validity of Visa

Validity of Stay

Travellers will be permitted to stay for a period not exceeding 90 days.

Visa Fee

Payment may be made either by cash or bank cheque (payable to Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General). Visa fees are payable in local Kina currency and are subject to change without notice. Visa fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome or withdrawal of a visa application.

Extension

An extension of stay may be requested. Applicants may file an application at:

SPOUSE & FAMILY VISA (NON-IMMIGRANT VISA CATEGORY "O")

Purpose of Visit

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to visit their Thai family.

There are two categories of Non-Immigrant "O" Visa: SINGLE ENTRY and MULTIPLE ENTRIES.

Required Documents

Non-Immigrant Visa applicants must provide the following documents with a completed Visa Application Form:

  1. A passport or travel document recognised by Thailand with validity of 6 months or more from expected date of arrival.
  2. A photocopy of biographic page of passport or travel document.
  3. A passport size photograph (3.5x4.5cm) taken within last six (6) months without glasses or headgear (photocopy not accepted).
  4. If you are a former Thai citizen, proof of Thai citizenship such as Thai passport or Thai I.D. card;
  5. If you want to visit as a spouse or family member (son or daughter) of Thai citizen, proof of relationship such as marriage certificate or birth certificate is required;
  6. A letter from your spouse or family member verifying the current status of relationship together with their Thai I.D. card. and house registration;
  7. A valid airline ticket or travel itinerary confirming date of arrival in and departure from Thailand.
  8. If applicant is not a Papua New Guinea citizen, proof of Papua New Guinea permanent residency visa is required.

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents or information as deemed necessary.

Purpose of Visit

This type of visa is issued to applicants, who wish to enter the Kingdom for business purposes, such as attending a conference or training session, and conducting business negotiation. 

Required Documents

Non-Immigrant Visa applicants must provide the following documents with a completed Visa Application Form:

SINGLE ENTRY

  1. A passport or travel document recognised by Thailand with validity of 6 months or more from expected date of arrival.
  2. A photocopy of biographic page of passport or travel document.
  3. A passport size photograph (3.5x4.5cm) taken within last six (6) months without glasses or headgear (photocopy not accepted).
  4. A letter from your employer stating your position, length of employment, date and purpose of visit.
  5. If you want to visit as a spouse or family member (son or daughter) of Thai citizen, proof of relationship such as marriage certificate or birth certificate is required;

MULTIPLE ENTRY
This type of visa is issued to applicants, who wish to visit their business associate or their own factory/company in Thailand.
  1. A passport or travel document recognised by Thailand with validity of 6 months or more from expected date of arrival.
  2. A photocopy of biographic page of passport or travel document.
  3. A passport size photograph (3.5x4.5cm) taken within last six (6) months without glasses or headgear (photocopy not accepted).
  4. A letter from your employer stating your position, length of employment, date and purpose of visit.
  5. An invitation letter from concerned company or organization in Thailand indicating length of stay and purpose of your visit.
  6. A copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour of Thailand and alien income tax or Por Njor Dor 91 (Only in the case where applicant has previously worked in Thailand).
  7. A letter of approval from the Ministry of Labour of Thailand.  To obtain this letter, the applicant’s prospective employer in Thailand is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour of Thailand or at the Provincial Employment Office in his or her respective province.   This letter is required if the applicant does not have a valid working permit in Thailand.
  8. A copy of corporate documents of associated partners/company in Thailand such as:

Purpose of Visit

This type of visa is issued to applicants, who wish to enter the Kingdom to teach or work. 

Required Documents

Non-Immigrant Visa applicants must provide the following documents with a completed Visa Application Form:

SINGLE ENTRY
  1. A passport or travel document recognised by Thailand with validity of 6 months or more from expected date of arrival.
  2. A photocopy of biographic page of passport or travel document.
  3. A passport size photograph (3.5x4.5cm) taken within last six (6) months without glasses or headgear (photocopy not accepted).
  4. A letter of acceptance from your employer in Thailand;
  5. A copy of your work contract;
  6. A copy of your employer’s business registration or license in Thailand;
  7. A valid airline ticket or travel itinerary confirming date of arrival in and departure from Thailand.
  8. If applicant is not a Papua New Guinea citizen, proof of Papua New Guinea permanent residency visa is required.

Additional documents required for TEACHER IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS - Single Entry Only:
