NON-IMMIGRANT VISA

Business, Work, Study, Family Dependant

to perform official duties
to conduct business/ to work
to invest with the concurrence of the Thai Ministries and Government Department concerned
to invest or perform other activities relating to investment, subject to the provision of the established law and investment promotion
to study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour, to participate in project or to attend a conference or training course, to study as a foreign Buddhist monk
to work as a film-producer, journalist or reporter
to perform missionary work or other religious activities with the concurrence of the Thai Ministries or Government Department concerned
to conduct scientific research or training or teaching in a research institute
to undertake skilled work or to work as an expert or specialist
other activities

Required Documents

Those visiting Thailand for business purposes, work, study or other reasons beside tourism require a Non Immigration Visa. Whether applying in person or by post, applications for Non Immigrant Visa must provide the following documents:

One completed Visa Application Form
Passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months from expected date of travel.
One passport size photograph (taken within last six months)
Photocopies of Bank Statement, travellers cheque, or other form of funds (credit cards are not acceptable) providing evidence of sufficient funds during period of stay in Thailand (at least PGK 1,500)
Valid ticket to Thailand or confirmed itinerary.

A completed Visa Application Form and evidence substantiating the reason for visit as follows:
STUDY	Transcript or Letter of acceptance from the respective school/university or education institute
FAMILY	Birth Certificate/ Marriage Certificate/ Copies of spouse’s passport, household registration and ID card
BUSINESS	Letter from Board of Investment of Thailand. Official Note certifying the purpose of travel from a Government Agency /Embassy and Consulate / International Organization / State Enterprise in Thailand. Letter from a company stating the objective of visit to Thailand Document showing correspondence with trading partner in Thailand. Letter of invitation from company entitled to employ foreigners.
WORK	Letter of acceptance from the Alien Occupational Control Division, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare. Employment contract indicating rationale for hiring applicant as well as his/her salary, position and qualifications (document signed by authorized Managing Director and affixed with the seal of the company) Copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (in event that applicant has previously worked in the Thailand) Copy of corporate documents; namely list of shareholders business registration and business license company profile details of business operation list of foreign workers stating names, nationalities and positions showing the location of the company Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) of the latest year Alien income tax return (Por Ngor Dor 91) and Value-added tax registration (Por Ngor Dor 20), etc Copy of educational or academic record of the applicant and letters of recommendation from the prior employers, identifying job description and length of service time.

Consular officers reserve the right to request for additional documents or information if necessary.

Validity of Visa

The validity of a Non-Immigrant Visa is three months from the date of issue.

Validity of Stay

Entrants coming to Thailand with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 90 days. Permission of stay will be given at the Immigration Checkpoint. The length of which will be subject to the discretion of the Thai Immigration Bureau upon entry into the Kingdom.

Extension

Extensions are possible.

Fee

Visa fee is PGK 190 per entry. Payment may be made either by cash or bank cheque (payable to Royal Thai Consulate-General). Visa fees are payable in local Kina currency and are subject to change without notice. Visa fees are charged to cover the cost of processing an application. If an application is refused, the fee is not refundable.

Notice About Visas

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT:
A visa does not guarantee entry into Thailand. It however simply indicates that your application has been reviewed by a consular officer and that he or she has determined you are eligible to enter the country for a specific purpose and permitted time. This visa allows you to travel to Thailand as far as the port of entry and ask the Immigration officer to allow you to enter the Kingdom. ONLY THE IMMGRATION OFFICER HAS THE AUTHORITY TO PERMIT YOU TO ENTER THAILAND AND TO DETERMINE THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY.
